Usage notes[]

All Romavian prepositions contract when they are placed before definite and indefinite articles and personal pronouns, the preposition de also contracts before words beginning with vowel or h. The preposition de has one special characteristic, it does not use a contraction before personal pronouns, in this case possessive pronouns are used:

  • Definite articles: du (de + u), da (de + a), dus (de + us), das (de + as).
  • Indefinite articles: dun (de + un), duna (de + una), dunus (de + unus), dunas (de + unas).
  • Personal pronouns: meu/mea/meus/meas (de + eo), teu/tea/teus/teas (de + tu), seu/sea/seus/seas (de + el/ela/elu/vosè/ēs/elas/elus/vosēs), nosu/nosa/nosus/nosas (de + nós), vosu/vosa/vosus/vosas (de + vós).
  • Before words starting with vowel or h: d'.
